అమెరికా దాతలకి హార్దిక ధన్యవాదాలు

కొన్ని మంచి పనులు కాస్త ఆలస్యం అయినా అవి అమృతప్రాయాలే అవుతాయి అనడంలో ఏమీ సందేహం లేదు. అటువంటిదే విశాఖపట్నం లోని ఆంధ్రా యూనివర్సిటీ ప్రాంగణం పునరుద్దరణకి మేము అనేక మంది  సహకారంతో అందించిన సుమారు $20,000 ఆర్ధిక సహకారం.

దురదృష్టవశాత్తూ, గత అక్టోబర్ 12, 2014 నాడు హుడ్ హుడ్  అనే మహమ్మారి తుఫాను విశాఖపట్నం తీరాన్ని అత్యంత భీభత్సంగా తాకి, కనీ, వినీ ఎరుగని ప్రాణ నష్టం, ఆస్తి నష్టం కలిగించిన విషయం చాలా మందికి గుర్తు ఉండే ఉంటుంది. ఆ తుఫాను ప్రభావం వలన మన ఆంధ్రా యూనివర్సిటీ ప్రాంగణం కూడా తీవ్రంగా దెబ్బతింది.  ఆ తుఫాను తాకిడి జరిగిన రోజు నుంచీ అక్కడ చదువుకుని అమెరికాలో నివసిస్తున్న మా స్వచ్చంద పూర్వ విద్యార్థుల బృందం వైస్ చాన్సలర్ జి.ఎస్.ఎన్. రాజు గారితో వ్యక్తిగతంగా మాట్లాడి జరిగిన నష్టం తీవ్రత గురించి ఒక స్పష్టమైన అవగాహనకి వచ్చి, తక్షణ సహాయంగా గత డిశంబర్ నెలలో కొంత విరాళమూ, ఆఖరి విడతగా ఈ వారంలో మరొక $13000 పై చిలుకు వెరసి సుమారు $20000 ఆర్ధిక సహాయం అందించగలిగాం. 

మా విన్నపాన్ని మన్నించి స్వచ్చందగా విరాళాలు అందజేసిన ఈ క్రింది వారికి అటు ఆంద్ర విశ్వ కళాపరిషత్ ఉప కులపతి గారూ, ఇతర సిబ్బందీ, మా ఔత్సాహిక పూర్వ విద్యార్థుల బృందం తరఫునా మనసారా ధన్యవాదాలు తెలుపుకుంటున్నాం.
